The cover embellished with mermaids and a stylised triton finial, pierced scroll, flower, leaf and beaded border, on an ovular pierced base, on conforming scroll-feet NOTE: Probably inspired by Nicola Salvi's hippocampi at the Trevi Fountain in Rome (33 x 31 x 77cm)

Set on a square platform with Egyptian arch and stepped base with inscription: "Ter Gedachteniss Aan De Vryheids Oorlog 1881" (with facsimile document) (Height: 29.3 cm)
Note: According to the article in the "Sunday Times Magazine Section September 23  1962" - indicates that 3 known small-scale models were commissioned by President  Kruger, and made by L. Roelhlin to present to 3 individuals, Sir Abe Bailey, Leo Weinthal  (then Editor of  the journal of South Africa) who in turn presented his model to Mr Abner Cohen and Mrs Jennie Cohen on the occassion of their wedding.
