featuring a mounted skeletonised floriform engraved Roman numeral dial, inscribed with the maker’s name, fitted with blued steel Gothic hands the cast, pierced and reticulated foliate scroll plates, fastened by 5 x double screwed pillars, enclosing an anchor escapement and single train fusee movement , suspending a later compensated bob pendulum with ebonised wooden rod, mounted on a white marble platform base with an affixed lozenge plaque, engraved and inscribed: Presented to Mr James Johnston. By the Teachers in Bridges St. Sabbath School as a token of love for him. As their Superintendent and dated: Montrose 8th Oct 1866, on raised and cast ball feet (43.5 x 25 x 14cm) (With winding key) (Condition report: age wearing, oxidation and imperfections evident, Sold W.A.F.)
