the shaped, carved and fretted case, with central star motif, flanked by incised naive scrolling leaf decorated supports, above a hinged arched framed and glazed panel door, depicting a silver transfer-printed scenario of a peacock amongst flowers and foliage, over a geometric pattern framed riverscape panel, leafy tendrils, butterfly and bird motifs, enclosing a silver metal framed Roman numeral paper dial with index seconds markers, maker’s trademark and inscribed: Manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Co. New York, United States of America’, fitted with black metal spade hands, chimes on the half and strikes on the hour, verso with later mounted attachment hook. The case further supported on a stepped rectangular platform base (57 x 33 x 10.7cm) (With pendulum and winding key) (Condition Report: Age wearing, oxidation, losses and imperfections evident)
