Retailed by Robert Kensch, Moscow c. 1905- 1917, the square-shaped veneered top with 30cm diameter felt-lined turntable, speed adjuster, adjustable swan neck arm & sound box (3AB0), with affixed manufacturer’s plaque, the case embellished with gilt metal ribbon & reed banding, over reeded Doric column supports & four panels fitted with a gilt metal wreath & stylised plaque of a dancing couple, on a stepped plinth base (24.5 x 50 x 49.5cm) (One gilt-metal plaque deficient) (With original winding crank & Art Nouveau white metal horn) (Scarce and in working order) PLUS a collection of old gramophone records (As found) Note: Robert Kensch, whose name appears in Cyrillic below the label, was a major dealer in gramophones and records in Moscow prior to the Russian Revolution of 1917.
