Ref no. 68/218, Brit Pats. 480112 490621, the black japanned metal case with rubber rimmed eyepiece & open slot on the front, an attached black drum with winding key, which houses the clockwork automatic averaging attachment (Serial no. 8891/42) battery handle, shade selector knob, bubble control knob, & daylight window, fitted with the bubble & collimating system which forms the artificial horizon on the left hand side, whereas the right side carries the sextant proper, comprising: 2 x mirrors, rotation gear, sunshades, altitude & angle scales, affixed ivorine tablet, wristwatch lighting prism, night lighting control wheel, a built-in lamp for night-time observation & attached swivel clip to the sextant, enabling it to be fitted to the suspension arm in the astrodome.
