Description
Obverse: Featuring the veiled and diademed bust of Queen Victoria, facing left. Inscribed in the arc surrounding the bust: ‘H.M. Queen (Left) / Victoria (Right)’ and in the recessed band around – the Royal Garter, with the Crown above and the Royal Arms below. Inscribed Legend on the Garter: ‘To Commemorate The 60th Year Of Her Majesty’s Reign’. Reverse: Depicting within an Oak wreath, the Z.A. Republic Transvaal Coat of Arms inscribed with the motto: ‘Eendracht Maakt Macht’ / Above: ‘Transvaal’ and Below: ‘South Africa’. Stamped on the ribbons on the wreath: ‘1837 (Left) 1897 (Right)’. The British Royal Arms above and the maker stamped at the foot: ‘Crun Bro’s’. With blue ribbon remnant. (Diameter: 40mm) (Condition report: Imperfections evident)
