Maker: Orfevrerie Christofle, Paris, stamped quality hallmarks post 1983, first issued in 1897, comprising: 12 x table forks, 12 x dessert forks, 12 x dinner knives, 12 x dessert knives, 12 x fish forks, 12 x fish knives, 12 x cake forks, 12 x cream soup spoons, 12 x dessert spoons, 12 x teaspoons and 12 x espresso spoons, each graduated handle featuring raised and embossed asymmetrical Rococo-style rocaille, scrolling acanthus leaves and shell motifs. Note: The Marly pattern takes its name from the Château de Marly built by the Sun King Louis XIV in the west of Paris, which was to be totally destroyed during the French Revolution, Marly is one of the most elaborately decorated patterns of the collection; the fine chasing of its asymmetrical plant motifs, typical of the “Rocaille” or Louis XV style Reference: https://www.christofle.com/eu_en/marly
