impressed: Rd 4,220037, Regd 221859, possibly George Jones and Sons (Crescent Pottery), issued c. 1893-1901, the shaped and graduated downcurved scrolled cover with applied and figured double c-scroll foliate embellished handle, featuring transfer-printed cascading geraniums and leaves, enclosed by an incised scale border, the moulded and embossed foliated side-panels depicting convolvulus or clematis sprays, all in tones of cobalt blue, supported over an ornate foliated under-plate, adorned with further rocaille and shell niches and corners, with gilt overglaze throughout (17 x 23 x 17.5cm) (Condition report: Age wearing to the gilding)
