Description
Maker: Azienda Artigiana Argenteria di Piccioni & C. S.n.c (3 AP), Ascoli, Piceno, stamped Arg. 925 R, each depicting 1) The Isle of Capri and 2) A Tuscan Village Riverside Scene. The first scenario depicting a paesaggio marino (seascape) with nearby coastline, sailboat sailing on the smooth water and the coastal houses of the Marina Grande, whereas the second panel manifests a bucolic scene showing an idyllic “borgo” (village) with a stone bridge over the Arno River and horse watering, both plaques are enhanced by lacquered polychrome dipinto a mano (hand-painted) and oxidised techniques, each enclosed by a thin gilt frame, mounted onto a mirrored back-panel, embellished with horizontal and vertical frosted line bands, applied gilt metal maker’s plaque, further surrounded by a gilded scrolling leaf decorated frame (With frame: 59 x 71cm each, mirror panel: 46.5 x 59cm each, relief panels: 25 x 35.5cm each) (With original packaging and boxes, 1 x wrapped with cellophane)
