Description
The main structural components consist of the main cast metal housing (The Register) fitted with an internal clockwork gear-driven mechanism which allowed the strip of paper tape to be pulled through at a constant speed. Winding spindle knob, located on the face of the metal housing, which allowed the user to manually wind the internal spring driven motor, further fitted with Governor Adjustment knobs, instead of converting signals strictly to sound, it mechanically records incoming Morse code onto a paper tape via an external paper feed and roller guide assembly, additionally integrated with an audible sound tapper assembly for dual visual and sensory signal reception, mounted upon a fitted mahogany baseboard with inset viewing window and an integrated slide-out storage drawer fitted with a brass knob pull, containing an original paper tape roll. The Inker records the incoming message when connected to a receiver; the message appears as dots and dashes on the paper tape, also when the coils are actuated, the armature moves down and, via a lever through the box, lifts the inking wheel from the ink well and into contact with the paper tape, leaving a mark on the tape every time a signal is received.
