Maker: Williams Ltd, Birmingham 1902, the cartouche-shaped body with a hinged flat domed ornate embossed repoussé cover and canted corners , featuring Rococo-style scrolling acanthus leaf and anthemion embellished sectional side panels, alternating with rocaille shell medallions flanking a central inset enamelled portrait plaque depicting the famous religious profile red veiled portrait of Saint Fabiola against a cobalt ground after Jean Jacques-Henner (French 1829-1905), above an integral cast scrolled thumbpiece, over a lower plain frame and later detachable cast black metal base plate (Mass without the base plate: 296g) (Condition report: Dents, imperfections, losses, chips, damages to enamel and splits evident to the box, as found) (5.5 x 13.5 x 11.5cm)
