Maker: Crichton Brothers (Lionel Alfred Crichton), London 1911, stamped lions head erased and Britannia marks, silver purity: .958, each octagonal-shaped body with cut corners and stepped rim, over a sectional panelled fluted and lobed body, on a conforming stepped and rising base, stamped on the underside: Crichton Bros, New York and London (Mass: 660g) (5 x 7.5 x 7.5cm each) (Condition report: Old solder repairs evident to base) Note: Crichton Brothers were retailers of usually fine reproductions of early pieces of silver and created miniature silver-plated inkstands, wall sconces and silver chandeliers for Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House in 1924.
